To say that the owners have paid special attention to the details when they reimagined the historic Merrill House in Picton, Ontario, is a considerable understatement. Both Jordan Martin de Rosales and husband Evert Rosales de Martin have literally poured their heart and soul into this property – and it shows.
From our vantage point in the cockpit of our sightseeing helicopter, it was easy to see why Gananoque, Ontario is known as the Gateway to the Thousand Islands. Stretched out below us along the St. Lawrence River was an archipelago of islands, some barely larger than a Toronto front yard, some large enough to be home to fairytale castles. But it turns out that Gananoque has as many stories as it does islands…

Not my words, but those spoken during the Niagara Parks Power Station sound and light show, Currents. And a fitting expression of the lifeblood that once flowed through this historic hydroelectric power station at the top of Horseshoe Falls. Today, this Niagara Falls attraction has not one but two new ways to appreciate the literal power of all that moving water: in the Station itself and via The Tunnel, where visitors follow an underground passage to emerge at the base of Horseshoe Falls.
